Headed for Belhaven Missions Conference

Today through Thursday, I'm attending the Belhaven College Missions Conference in Jackson, MS. I'll find out more details tonight at dinner with one of the professors. I'm looking forward to meeting some of the students and sharing about CBTC! College is such a transitional time. It's when God clearly called me to missions.

Please pray:
1. That God will open the hearts and minds of students to His call.
2. For divine appointments.
3. For safety as I travel to and from Jackson.

The story behind the title

This is from my May 28, 2010 prayer update:

A Blue Rocking Chair

Last week, I was thinking about moving and what kind of furniture
I would like to have in Mississippi. My Mom has always had a rocking chair and I decided that it would be nice to have one as well. I prayed, “Lord, would you provide a rocking chair for me?” Several days later, I was visiting with my friend Rachel. She mentioned that she was cleaning out her garage and had a rocking chair that needed a new home! I now have a comfortable place to relax, and a tangible reminded that God provides for his children. I am greatly encouraged by this and hope you will be as well!

Welcome

I live and work in central Mississippi. I work with the Choctaw Bible Translation Committee as an Arts Intern. As a member of Wycliffe Bible Translators, I am responsible for raising my own support. Right now I am busy making contacts and sharing the word about CBTC.

I've been learning about Native American arts beading techniques. The picture on the left is a modified cross design done in Peyote stitch. I sewed it onto a medicine bag given to me by Leonard, one of the mother tongue translators.
